Removing fixed side windows
Before starting work, protect the paintwork around the rubber strip using masking tape.
Detach the C post panel according to C-post panel C-Post Panel (do not remove the panel).
Insert wire 115 9785 PIANO WIRE 0.5 MM 115 9785 Piano Wire 0.5 mm through the PUR adhesive from the inside outwards.
Use round-nosed pliers to pull the wire through from the outside.
All work is carried out from the outside of the car.
Secure the wire in the handle 115 9784 PULLER HANDLE 115 9784 Puller Handle on the outside and in counterhold 115 9783 COUNTERHOLD CHISEL 115 9783 Counterhold Chisel on the inside of the car.
Carefully pull around the window.
Cut off the plastic guides with the wire.
Remove the side window.
Clean any plastic residue from the bushing.
Cut away all PUR from the body flange. A layer of approximately 1 mm can be left.
Installing fixed side windows
If the window is to be reused:
Use new tape if necessary.
If necessary, use new bushings when installing.
Apply PUR adhesive according to Installing windshields Service and Repair.
Install the window. Press the window into place by hand.
Secure using a strip of tape.
Note! Allow the adhesive to cure so that the window does not change position before installing the components.
Install the C-post panel according to C-post panel C-Post Panel.
