Replacing The Stop Lamp Switch

Conditions
- Ignition off.
- Remove the panel under the dashboard on the driver's side.

Removing The Stop Lamp Switch







- Press the stop (brake) lamp switch, from the side of the connector, completely forwards.

NOTE: A number of clicks should be heard and felt when pressing.

- Disconnect the connector.
- Press the brake pedal as far down as possible.
- Pull the white bushing (1) as far forward as possible.
- Press in the two locking lugs (2) on the reverse. Remove the stop lamp switch.

Stop Lamp Switch, Installation










- Press the stop (brake) lamp switch, from the side of the connector A, completely forwards.

NOTE: A number of clicks should be heard and felt when pressing.

- Pull the white bushing (1) as far from the stop lamp switch as possible.
- Press the brake pedal as far down as possible.
- Install the stop lamp switch.

CAUTION: The stop lamp switch can only be installed in one way.

- Connect the connector.
- Release the brake pedal normally

NOTE: The stop (brake) lamp switch will now be adjusted.

- Check the function.

NOTE: The stop lamp must light when the brake pedal is pressed down more than approximately 1 mm.

- Reinstall the panel under the dashboard on the driver's side.
