Replacing the rear wheel sensors
Preparations
Switch off the ignition.
Remove the wheel hub according to Replacing rear wheel hubs Replacing Rear Wheel Hubs
Removing rear wheel sensor
Note! Clean the sensor and the switch thoroughly before removal.
- Remove the protective cover over the switch
- Separate the connector
- Remove the sensor cable from the supports
- Remove the 2 screws for the sensor
- Remove the sensor and the sensor cable.
Installing the rear wheel sensor
- Clean off all dirt and rust from the sensor seat so that the sensor is correctly positioned in relation to the pulse wheel. Clean the pulse wheel using a soft brush
- Grease the sensor lightly
- Route the sensor cable through and install the sensor
- Tighten to 55 Nm
- Press the sensor lead into place in the support
- Connect the connector
- Install the protective cover.
Install the wheel hub, brake caliper and wheel according to Replacing rear wheel hubs Replacing Rear Wheel Hubs
Final check
- Read off and erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
- Test drive the car according to Test driving Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
- Check whether any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored. Read off any stored DTCs.
