Replacing the speed sensor
Preparations

Note: When removing the battery lead, see Note when disconnecting and connecting the battery lead.

Removing the air cleaner (ACL) housing, the intake manifold and the battery.

Remove





- the battery shelf.

Removing the vehicle speed sensor (VSS)





- Unhook the (two-pin white) connector for the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) from the bracket
- Separate the connector
- Clean thoroughly around vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Remove the sensor
- Note the routing of the cable.

Installing the vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
Install





- the sensor. Tighten to 5.5 Nm
- the connector on the bracket.
- Assemble the connector.

Install





- the battery shelf.

Checking diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
Check and erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
