Backrest Upholstery






Backrest upholstery

Note! This description covers removal of the larger section of upholstery on the left-hand side. Only the hinges, lock and guide pins for the head restraint need to be removed on the right-hand side.

Backrest rear seat, upholstery, removing
Preparation:
- Remove the backrest. See Rear seat backrest Rear Seat Backrest.

Handle and panel, removing
See: Lock mechanism, replacing.

Armrest panel, removing




- Pull out the panel from the underneath
- Cut through part of the guide for the head restraint. Press the pin in
- Remove the 2 x locating pins
- Pull out the panel from the top.
- Install in reverse order.

Note! Only reinstall the locating pins for the head restraint if replacing the panel.

Seat belt cover, removing




- Remove the 2 x screws and covers.
- Install in reverse order.

Removing the upholstery




If removing the armrest:
- Bend the catches
- Pull out the lugs at the same time as the upholstery
- Pull the upholstery over the locating pins.
In all cases:
- Open the zipper
- Cut through part of the guide for the head restraint. Press the pin in
- Remove the 4 x locating pins
- Remove the upholstery and the padding together.
- Install in reverse order.

Note! Always install new locating pins when replacing the upholstery.

Upholstery or plastic foam padding, replacing




- Cut off the 10 x clamps for the upholstery
- Remove the mountings pins for the armrest.
When installing new upholstery: check that the number of holes is correct. Check that the upholstery is correctly secured.

Note! When installing new locating pins, the lock must always be installed to the left.

Lock mechanism, replacing




Fold the backrest forward.

Remove:
- the 3 x screws
- the cover
- the 2 x screws
- the entire lock by pulling it upwards.





Replacing the rubber in the lock
Pull the rubber out of the lock. Use a twisting motion. Do not damage the rubber.
Clean the lock where the rubber was positioned.
Install the new rubber. See the illustration. Press the rubber into position. Use a small screwdriver.





Installing the lock

Install:
- the lock from above
- the 2 x screws. Tighten to 18 Nm
- the protective plate. Tighten the short screw at the rear edge of the backrest.
Check the function.
Adjust the lock catch if necessary.

Seat belt rear, center, removing




- Remove the upholstery
- Remove the white protective tab
- Remove the screw and nut for the upper locating pin
- Remove the upper locating pin
- Remove the seat belt. Twist the seat belt 180° and thread it through the upper guide
- Remove the entire seat belt.
- Install in reverse order.
Use a new nut. Tighten to: 25 Nm.
Tighten the upper locating pin. Tighten to: 18 Nm.
