Connecting the Breakout Box
Connecting The Breakout Box, Audio HU1205 (Audio Module)
Special Tools: 951 1507, 981 3190, 951 1509
- Ignition off
- Expose the audio unit.
NOTE: Ensure that you have noted the radio code before cutting the power to the radio. If the current to the navigation system has been interrupted, it may take up to 15 minutes before the GPS signals are received correctly and the car's position can be calculated.
Check that the male and female terminals on the unit connectors are undamaged and secure (cannot be pressed in). Check that the cables to the female terminals are secured to the terminal pins.
Connect adapter 951 1507 to the audio unit connector (wiring side). Connect breakout box 981 3190 to the adapter.
Audio Unit Terminals:
- Terminals #A1-#A12 correspond to terminals #15-#26 on the breakout box.
- Terminals #B1-#B12 correspond to terminals #1-#12 on the breakout box.
- When connecting connector D, adapter 951 1509 must be used.
- Terminals #D1-#D8 correspond to terminals #16-#23 on the breakout box.
- The breakout box is designed to facilitate reading off the control module input and output signals when the control module is connected; and the cable and component resistance when the control module is disconnected. The use of a breakout box reduces the risk of accidental short-circuited cables and damage to the connector pins.
