Signal too low. Intermittent fault

Checking the cable








- Ignition off
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Disconnect the seat belt buckle connector
- Disconnect the SRS control module.
- Connect the battery negative lead.

Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.

Check the seat belt buckle connector. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Measure the resistance between the seat belt buckle connector:
- terminal #1 and chassis ground
- terminal #2 and chassis ground.
Measure between SRS control module:
- terminal #73 (#48) and chassis ground
- terminal #70 (#45) and chassis ground.
for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The resistance must be infinite.
Remedy as necessary.
