Note! As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Installation
Installing the piston in the transmission
Apply a little petroleum jelly to the O-ring for the piston.
Use petroleum jelly, P/N 116 51-4.
Install the piston in the transmission.
Installing the servo cylinder cover
Align the servo cylinder cover with the piston and the transmission. Lightly tighten the 3 M6 screws alternately. Tighten.
Install the transmission output speed sensor cable on the transmission using a tie strap.
Tightening the screws for the bevel gear/chain housing
Lightly tighten the 3 M10 screws alternately. The screw for the bevel gear/bracket on the engine is on top of the bevel gear and can be accessed from the center. Tighten.
Installing the bracket
Install the bracket on the cylinder block and chain housing using 6 M10 screws.
First tighten the screws for the bracket and cylinder block so that the bracket can move slightly. Then tighten the 2 screws for the bracket and chain housing alternately to contact. Then tighten all the screws.
Install and tighten the screw for the fuel line clamp.
Installing the steering gear to the engine pad
Install the 1 M10 screw for the steering gear and engine pad. Align the steering gear in relation to the engine pad, using the marking made earlier. Tighten.
Installing the drive shaft
Press the drive shaft into the transmission. Check that the snap ring is in its groove by carefully pulling it in the inner constant velocity joint. Locate the drive shaft in the wheel hub.
Finishing
Install the sub-frame. See Sub-frame front, replacing Service and Repair. Check the boot on the steering shaft/firewall. See Service and Repair
