Electrical engine block heater 115V

Caution! Ensure that the cable for the engine block heater is not routed close to any rotating components or sharp edges.

- Take the cable for the front engine block heater socket and the protective cover from the kit
- Thread the protective cover on to the cable.

- Take the holder for the connector from the kit. Press the connector into place in the bottom of the holder.

- Fold the cover over the connector. Press together so that the holes in the holder and cover align with each other.

- Take the mounting and screw for the grille from the kit. Tighten the mounting for the holder and cover.

- Insert the cable for the front engine block heater socket through the centre hole, second from the left in the grille
- Take the screw and the mounting plate from the kit. Insert the front engine block heater socket. Slide it to the right so that the distance between the mounting plate and the second rib in the grille is 10 mm (25/64"). This is so that the cable does not become trapped when folding the connector out or back in
- Route the cable to the left into the join between the two rubber seals for the radiator. Continue routing the cable along the left-hand side of the radiator and out between the front skid plate and the front edge of the sub-frame.

- Remove the engine splash guard (1) by first removing the screws (2).

- Remove the draining nipple on the hose to the left of the oil cooler. Drain the coolant
- Remove the clamps (1) on the lower hose on the oil cooler. Remove the hose. Place the hose to one side. It will not be reused.

- Remove the screw (1) in the bottom cover on the right front corner of the gearbox
- Tighten the small bracket (from the kit) using the screw to the gearbox as illustrated. Tighten the screws. Tighten to 10 Nm (7 lbf.ft.).

- Install the hoses (from the kit) on the heater. Align the white markings (1) with each other as illustrated.

- Position the four hose clamps (from the kit) on the hoses and heater
- Tighten the hose clamp (1). Position the hose clamp (2) as illustrated. Tighten the hose to the oil cooler.

- Position the rubber coated clamp (1) (from the kit) on the heater as illustrated.

- Install the heater with the hoses to the oil cooler pipe
- Take a blind rivet (1) from the kit. Blind rivet the rubber coated clamp with the heater to the bracket in the bottom cover of the transmission
- Tighten the remaining hose clamps to the heater and oil cooler pipe.

- Route the previously routed cable for the front engine block heater socket above the front left corner of the sub-frame
- Grease the O-ring on the switch using low temperature grease, (P/N 1161417-9).

Note! Do not get any grease on the contact surfaces of the connector.

- Connect the cable connector to the connector on the engine block heater. Install a locking sleeve from the kit over the joint.

Warning! Never break the power supply to the engine block heater by disconnecting this connector.

- Route the cable as illustrated. Clamp the cable using a tie strap from the kit at position (1).

- Fill with coolant. Test run the engine. Bleed the cooling system. Check for leakage
- Reinstall the engine splash guard. Tighten to 25 Nm ( 19 lbf. ft.)
