Background

This Service Bulletin describes how interference from mobile phones placed in the compartment above the CD player/changer can be reduced. By changing to a new CD guide made of different material, the interference decreases.

Removing the CD guide 1

Remove the CD player/changer, see VADIS:
Repairing and installing
Function group 39
MD/CD player module (MP1/MP2), replacing.

To remove the CD guide: Expose the front of the CD player/changer. Carefully lift the 6 locks as illustrated while pulling the CD guide forward. Use a screwdriver.

Installing the CD guide 2

Install the new CD guide.
Reinstall the CD player/changer, see VADIS:
Repairing and installing
Function group 39
MD/CD player module (MP1/MP2), replacing.

Finishing 3

Check the function of the CD player/changer to ensure that interference from the mobile phone has been reduced.
