Fault-tracing information

Condition




The fault is permanent.
The fault is not mechanical.
The compressor clutch does not engage when the engine control module (ECM) attempts to activate it.

Note! Conditions: the engine is running, the D+ signal is active, the selector for fan speed is not in position 0, the air conditioning (A/C) is on (the green LED lights) and the conditions for A/C engagement are met.

Possible source
- Defective fuse for the circuit in the integrated relay and fusebox in the engine compartment
- Defective relay for the circuit in the integrated relay and fusebox in the engine compartment
- Defective magnetic clutch in the compressor
- Open-circuit and a short-circuit to ground and supply voltage in the wiring in the circuit.

Fault symptom[s]
- A/C compressor does not start, or runs sporadically
- The lowest passenger compartment temperature is not reached
