Checking the function selector switch

Checking the wiring
Check the following cables for an open-circuit or a short-circuit to ground between:
- the function selector switch connector terminal 1 and combined instrument panel terminal #A3
- the function selector switch connector terminal 2 and combined instrument panel terminal #A5
- the function selector switch connector terminal 7 and combined instrument panel terminal #A6.
If no faults are found in the wiring, try a new function selector switch.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Compare the position of the function selector switch with the read off value.





Does the position of the function selector switch correspond to the read off value?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
