Signal Too Low. Intermittent Fault
Signal too low. Intermittent fault
Checking the cable
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Disconnect the SRS control module.
- Connect the battery negative lead.
Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the control module.
Check the SRS module connector. Check for intermittent contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Measure the resistance between SRS control module terminal #26 (#1) and seat belt reminder terminal #5. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The resistance must be infinite. If not there is a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
