Signal Too Low. Permanent Fault

Signal too low. Permanent fault

Check the wiring and connectors

- Ignition off
Check the connectors of boost pressure sensor 2 (MAP) and the engine control module for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

Continue - Checking boost pressure sensor signals

-------------------------------------------------

Checking boost pressure sensor signals

- Restore the connectors.
- Ignition on
Activate the readout of boost pressure sensor values.
Check that the value from boost pressure sensor 2 (MAP) does not deviate from that of boost pressure sensor 1 (BOP) by more than 200 mbar. Boost pressure sensor 1 (BOP) is used as the reference value in this test.

Are the values of the boost pressure sensors within 200 mbar of one another?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the boost pressure sensor signal

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the boost pressure sensor signal
If the values of the boost pressure sensors do not agree, try a new boost pressure sensor 2 (MAP)

Other information
- For boost pressure sensor 2 (MAP) replacement, see Boost pressure sensor 2, replacing Boost Pressure Sensor 2, Replacing.

Verification

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.

- Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
- Ignition on.

- Read off boost pressure sensor 2 (MAP sensor) and boost pressure sensor 1
- Check that the boost pressure valve values are the same. Check that the boost pressure sensor values are within 200 mbar of each other

Are the values for the boost pressure sensors approximately the same?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED

------------------------

VERIFIED - FAULT FOUND

VERIFICATION FAILED - Fault-tracing information

Fault-tracing information

Information

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Do you want to exit fault-tracing?

Yes - Exit fault-tracing

No - Attempt New Test

------------------------

Attempt New Test - Check the wiring and connectors

FAULT-TRACING FAILED - No Fault Found
