Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

The gas level sensor in the gas tank indicates the gas level to the control module and the gas level gauge. The resistance of the gas level sensor changes with the gas level. The sensor is supplied with a stabilized voltage of 5 V from the control module and is grounded together with the fuel level sensor (gasoline). The voltage across the sensor depends on the gas level. The sensor resistance and the signal to the combined instrument panel varies accordingly.
If the gas level increases, the resistance reduces and the voltage drops. If the gas level falls, the resistance rises and the voltage increases.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) DIM-1E is stored if the combined instrument panel registers that the signal from the gas level sensor is too high, (the resistance in the circuit exceeds 2000 ohms) for more than 60 seconds.

Substitute value
Signal to the LPG control module that the engine is not permitted to run on gas.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open-circuit or short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Open-circuit in the common ground lead
- Defective gas level sensor.

Fault symptom[s]
- The gas level gauge does not function
- The engine will not run on gas
- The LPG indicator lamp does not light.
