Status check
Take resistance readings between the combined instrument panel connector terminal #B4 and ground.

Does the ohmmeter display a short-circuit?

Yes - Checking the wiring

No - Intermittent fault

Checking the wiring
Check the cable between combined instrument panel connector terminal #B4 (#4) and the radio connector terminal #B7. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.

- Ignition off
- Connect the combined instrument panel to the car without the breakout box
- Raise the front wheels. Allow them to spin in gear at idling speed.
Measure the pulse signal on the radio connector terminal #B7.
