- Ignition on
- Read off the position of the reset button.
Compare the position of the reset button with the noted value.
- ON = Reset button depressed
- OFF= reset button unaffected.

Hint: The voltage between the mode selector terminals #1, #2 and #7 and ground must be 10-12 V when the connector is disconnected and the ignition is on.
Check the signal cables between mode selector terminals #1, #2 and #7 and the combined instrument panel terminals #A3, #A5 and #A6. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the reset button is pressed in for more than 25 seconds.
Hint: The voltage between the mode selector terminals #1, #2 and #7 and ground must be 10-12 V when the connector is disconnected and the ignition is on.
Check the signal cables between mode selector terminals #1, #2 and #7 and the combined instrument panel terminals #A3, #A5 and #A6. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground.
