Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The engine coolant temperature (ECT) signal from the engine control module (ECM) is a pulsed signal between 0 and 5 V with a variable frequency and fixed pulse ratio (% duty). The frequency increases with decreasing temperature.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) DIM-10 is stored in the combined instrument panel if the rate of the signal for the engine coolant temperature (ECT) from the engine control module (ECM) was less than 2 ms for more than 10 seconds.
Substitute value
None.
Possible source
- defective combined instrument panel
- defective engine control module (ECM).
Fault symptom[s]
- The engine coolant temperature (ECT) gauge does not function (does not apply to Bi-fuel cars)
- The high engine coolant temperature (ECT) warning lamp flashes.
The lamp flashes for 10 seconds if a fault is detected (Bi-fuel cars only).
