Signal Too High
Signal too high
Checking the function of the air conditioning (A/C) request
- Start the engine and let it run at idle speed
- Start the blower fan.
Note! Check that the air distribution selector is not in the defrost position (the marking pointing straight up).
- Read off the status for the air conditioning (A/C) request
- Activate the air conditioning (A/C) switch on the climate control module panel.
Check that the status changes between activated and not activated when the air conditioning switch is pressed in and released. The fault is intermittent if the status changes.
Does the status change with the position of the switch?
Yes - Intermittent fault
No - Checking cables
-------------------------------------------------
Checking cables
- Check the signal cable between climate control module terminal #B13 and the engine control module (ECM). Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. See the appropriate wiring diagram for the correct terminal on the engine control module (ECM)
- Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To remove the climate control module, see Comfort module Removal and Replacement
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box, climate control module Connecting The Breakout Box
- For the voltage of the signal cable, see Climate control signal specifications Signal Specification

Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine and allow it to run at idle speed
- Start the blower fan.
Note! Check that the air distribution selector is not in the defrost position (the marking pointing straight up).
- Read off the status for the air conditioning (A/C) request
- Remedy as necessary.
Activate the air conditioning (A/C) switch on the climate control module panel. Check that the status changes between activated and not activated when the air conditioning switch is pressed in and released. The fault has been remedied if the status changes.
Does the status change with the position of the switch?
Yes - FAULT FOUND

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
Yes - Exit fault-tracing
No - Attempt New Test

Intermittent fault
Check the signal cable between climate control module terminal #B13 and the engine control module (ECM). Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.

If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
