SUBJECT: Fuel Level Sensor Replacement

DESCRIPTION:
When replacing the fuel level sensor on the vehicles mentioned in the header above. It may be necessary to reprogram the drivers information module depending on which style fuel sender is being installed in the vehicle.
SERVICE:
If fuel level sensor PN 30630034 is being replaced by PN 30630596 it will be necessary to reprogram the Drivers Information Module (see procedure below). Failure to follow this procedure will result in the malfunction of the low fuel warning system.
Sensor Identification
This instruction describes how the S40/V40 Driver Information Module (DIM) must be programmed it the old Fuel Level Sensor (P/N 30630034) is replaced by the new version (P/N 30630596).
Log onto Vadis as usual, and profile the vehicle using the complete VIN.
1. From software manager order function ID 270 (PN 30623218) Select NO for hardware replace
2. Ignition On.
3. Download software.
4. Select "1" to select US market.
5. Select "2" to select the function to program Low Fuel Warning Settings.
6. Select VCT 2000 symbol to start the programming procedure. Perform programming
Neglect the indicated programming status and ALWAYS perform the programming as follows:
1. Select "Original setting"
2. Select "Start programming"
Completing Programming
After the programming the VADIS screen should indicate Original setting.
Exit the software download.
1. Select "Hide"
2. Select "Cancel"
1. After the software download the download will be confirmed by the system.
2. End the VADIS programming by clicking on the "Cancel" button.
