Cleaning throttle body (ETM) DENSO

Removal

Removing the throttle body




Remove the hose clamp and the fresh air hose from the throttle body (TB). Fold the hose to one side.

Remove the following items:
- the 4 x screws for the throttle body.
- the gasket and discard it.

Cleaning





Note! Do not use compressed air when cleaning the throttle body.

Place paper in the engine compartment and place the throttle body on the paper.




Clean the throttle body.

Use: cleaning agent, 1161 826

Apply the agent using a brush.
Ensure that all deposits are removed from the surfaces marked in the illustration.




Carefully wipe clean the inside of the air channel on both sides of the throttle disc. Also wipe clean the edge of the throttle disc.

Installation

Installing the throttle body




Clean the gasket's mating surfaces on the intake manifold. Install the throttle body together with a new gasket.
Tighten to the screws with 10 Nm.
Install the fresh air hose using a hose clamp.

Finishing

Check the connections
Check that the crankcase ventilation hoses or vacuum hoses have not come loose from their connections.
