Lock and handle for the front side door

The lock for the front side door

Removing the lock for the front side door

Remove:
- the door panel according to Panel front side door Panel Front Side Door
- the lock unit according to Central locking motor for the front side door Central Locking Motor For The Front Side Door.

Installing the lock for the front side door

Install:
- the lock unit according to Central locking motor for the front side door Central Locking Motor For The Front Side Door
- the door panel according to Panel front side door Panel Front Side Door.

The outer door handle for the front side door

Removing the outer door handle for the front side door




Remove the door panel according to Panel front side door Panel Front Side Door.
Carefully bend the panel lining inwards.

Remove:
- the connecting rods for the handle from the clip
- the self adhesive label
- the two screws (A) from the handle
- the connector. Remove the clip from the micro-switch in the door.
Press in the lugs. Remove the handle and protective cover.

Removing the lock switch, driver's door





Remove:
- the clip
- the lock switch
- the connecting rod.

Removing the lock cylinder, driver's door




Insert the key in the door lock.

Remove:
- the screw (A), the ring (B), and levers (F and E).

Note! Ensure that the spring (D) does not jump out.

- the spring (D)
- the lock and key.

Removing the lock cylinder, passenger door




Insert the key in the door lock.

Remove:
- the screw (A), the ring (B) and the lever (C).

Note! Ensure that the spring (D) does not jump out.

- the spring (D)
- the lock and key.

Repair kit for the door lock cylinder





Note! The repair kit contains required material for all locks with the key code on the label.

Grease the inside of the lock cylinder using lubricant P/N 1161417.
Align a spring in each hole on one side of the lock cylinder.
Install, from the same side, a plate in each slot with the protruding section towards the spring.
To identify see X in the illustration.
Secure the plates using a piece of tape.
Repeat the above procedure on the other side of the lock cylinder.
Secure all the plates using tape.
Insert the key. Remove the tape.
Check that no plates are protruding from the lock cylinder.
Replace the plates if any are protruding.

Installing the lock cylinder, driver's door




Grease the lock cylinder using lubricant P/N 1161417. Install the door handle.
Install the spring (D). Ensure that it is secure.
Install the levers (E and F). Install the ring (B). Install the screw (A).
Check the function of the door lock.

Installing the lock cylinder, passenger door




Grease the lock cylinder using lubricant P/N 1161417. Install the door handle.
Install the spring (D). Ensure that it is secure.
Install the lever (C). Install the ring (B). Install the screw (A).
Check the function of the door lock.

Installing the lock switch, driver's door





Install:
- the connecting rod
- the lock switch
- the clip.
Check the function.

Installing the outer door handle for the front side door




Assemble the outer door handle and the protective cover with a twisting movement.
Check that the rods are unimpeded.

Install:
- the two screws (A).

Note! Use new screws and thread sealant P/N 1161075.

- the self adhesive label
- pull the connecting rods for the handle downwards. Press the rods into the clips
- the micro-switch. Press the connector and clips into the door securely.
Check the function of the lock and handle.
Install the run-off profile according to Run-off profile Side Door With Controls.
Install the door panel according to Panel front side door Panel Front Side Door.
