Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition




The engine control module (ECM) and the transmission control module communicate with each other in a network via a standardized serial communication interface - Controller Area Network (CAN) - to exchange information. The control modules transmit and receive information. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-E000 is stored if the control module registers that communication is missing or subject to interference.

Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) "Emergency mode I" program has been initiated.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the control area network (CAN) wiring.

Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp for the automatic transmission flashes
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
