Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

The transmission has been equipped with "slipping lock-up" to minimize fuel consumption. The lock-up solenoid (SLU) slows the slippage in the torque converter from approximately 50 km/h by adjusting the control pressure. Full lock-up function is achieved at approximately 90 km/h.
The transmission control module (TCM) compares the engine speed (RPM) signal, the transmission input speed signal and the vehicle speed signal with the predetermined values to determine whether there is too much slippage in lock-up mode. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-002F is stored if the transmission slippage is excessive.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Lock-up solenoid SLU jammed in the OFF position
- Mechanical fault in the transmission.

Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp for the automatic transmission flashes
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- No lock-up function
- Harsh gear shifting.
