Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Shift solenoids S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 operate together to control gear-shifting. The solenoids are controlled by power stages in the transmission control module (TCM). The transmission control module (TCM) opens the power stages to activate the solenoids and sends a voltage through the circuit. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) TCM-0002, TCM-0008, TCM-0102, TCM-0108 or TCM-010B are stored (depending on the solenoid) if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the signal in circuits S1, S2, S3, S4 or S5 is missing when the solenoid is activated.
Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) "Emergency mode I" program has been initiated.
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Defective solenoid
- Internal fault in the control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp for the automatic transmission flashes
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Harsh gear shifting
- No shifting
- No lock-up function.
