Signal Too Low. Intermittent Fault
Signal too low. Intermittent fault
Checking components and wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Disconnect the SRS control module.
Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag!
Note! Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the control module.
Check the connectors for:
- 2-pin (under the seat)
- the SRS control module.
check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults. Check for loose connections according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Measure the resistance between the SRS control module:
- terminal #35 (#10) and chassis ground
- terminal #36 (11) and chassis ground.
Also check between the connector under the seat:
- terminal #1 and chassis ground
- terminal #2 and chassis ground.
for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The resistance must be below 3.5 kohms.
Remedy as necessary.

If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
