On vehicles with automatic transmission: Also check the Park / Neutral position (PNP) switch and its cables for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Remove the starter motor relay according to Replacing the starter motor relay Service and Repair.
