Signal Too Low. Permanent Fault

Signal too low. Permanent fault

Checking the connector

- Ignition off
- Check the connector on boost pressure sensor 1. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
- Ignition on
- Read off the signal from the boost pressure sensor 1.
Check that the signal is correct. The reading must be approximately 1000 mbar. The value varies according to other circumstances dependent on the air pressure.
If the signal is now OK, the fault was caused by poor contact in the connector.

Is the signal OK?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the wiring and component

Checking the wiring and component
Check the signal cable between control module terminal #72 and connector terminal #3 on boost pressure sensor 1. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the power supply cable between connector terminal #2 on boost pressure sensor 1 and control module terminal #74. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.
Try a new boost pressure sensor 1 if no fault is found during the above fault-tracing.
