Checking the wiring and component




- Ignition off.
Check the signal cable between control module terminal #10 and system relay terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Hint: With the ignition on and the system relay disconnected, the voltage between system relay terminal #1 and ground should be approximately 12V.

Try a new system relay if no fault is found during the above fault-tracing.
Remedy as necessary.

Activate the system relay. Check that the relay clicks and the fuel pump (FP) starts when it is activated.
