Installation

Hint:
Assemble the shift lever carrier before it is installed in the vehicle.

Raise the gaiter into the upper panel and push firmly to fasten.

Install the locking over the shift lever.

Push the gear selector knob until it locks onto the shift lever.

Put the shift lever carrier on the side.

Pull the gaiter until the four locking tabs on the gear selector knob are visible.

Note!
The lock ring only fits in one position (see arrows).

Pull the lock ring toward the shift lever knob until it locks onto the gaiter. Check that it is firmly attached by pulling the lock ring downward.

Install the shift lever carrier to the body. Tighten to 25 Nm (18.44 ft-lb).

Install:





- cable to the gear selector. Secure the cable with the locking

- connector to the rear of the shift lever carrier

- key lock cable to the shift lever carrier. Put the cable in the extended lock sleeve.

Turn the ignition key to position 0.





Put the gear selector in position P.

Put a 5 mm drill in the housing above the yellow lock sleeve. This locks the lever into position.

Install the cable to the housing and to the threaded end in the cut-out on the yellow lock sleeve.

Push the lock sleeve to lock the cable into position.

Check

Check that it is not possible to remove the key when the shift lever is in another position than P.

Move the gear selector forward. Apply parking brake.

Place the tunnel console over the gear selector. Fit the parking brake lever in the proper position.

Fold down the console.

Raise the front end of the console.





Fasten in its mounts. Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (7.38 ft lb).

Install the CD rack.

The parking brake lever should be in the bottom position.

Note!
Follow the adjustment procedure to achieve full brake effect for the parking brake.

Adjust parking brake

Only adjust the nut to the second notch.

Inspection

Check that the wheels can spin freely after the adjustment.

Perform a test drive and an additional parking brake adjustment.

Install the cover panel over the gaiter upper panel. Push them together.

Fold in the front end of the panel. Push the panel down into the tunnel console.

Assemble the connector. Re-install the panel in the tunnel console.

Install the ash tray.

Installing the side panels 25





Fit the side panels into its mounts.

Push the panels forward to attach them properly.

Turn the locking screw 1/4 turn.
