Replacing Fixed Side Windows







- Before starting work, protect the paintwork around the rubber strip using masking tape.

Removal

- Detach the panel from the inside of the C-post: the panel does not need to be removed.
- Use a piece of piano wire approximately 500 mm long.
- All work is carried out from the outside of the car.
- Secure the wire in two handles.
- Carefully pull around the window.
- Cut off the plastic guides with the wire.
- Clean any plastic residue from the bushing.
- Cut away all PUR from the body flange. A layer of approximately 1 mm can be left.

Installation

- If the window is to be reused:
- Use new tape if necessary.
- If necessary, use new bushings when installing
- Remove the PUR-bead on the window and body flange. Use a chisel. A layer of approximately 1 mm can be left.
- Apply glass activator and glass primer.
- Apply PUR adhesive.
- Press the window into place by hand.
- Secure using a strip of tape.
- Press the panel into place.
