Side impact sensors

B-pillar sensor

Preparation




Make a note of the radio code.
Turn ignition key to position 0.
Remove the battery ground lead.

Removing B-pillar panel





Remove:
- The door sill panel front and rear
- The B-pillar panel.
- The foam carefully.

Removing side impact sensor




- Unhook the locking carefully and remove the connector (don't pull on the wires)
- Screws (2x).
- Side impact sensor.

Note! Check the side impact sensor and connector for bent or damaged pins and sockets. This may have caused the fault.

- Replace sensor.

Installing side impact sensor




Position the sensor.

Install:
- The sensor with (2x) screws (6 Nm)
- The connector and check the locking
- The foam
- The B-pillar panel.
- The door sill panel front and rear.
Turn ignition key to position II.
Install the battery ground lead.
If applicable: Re-enter the radio code.
Set the correct time on the clock.
Start engine and read out diagnostic trouble codes.
