Replacing the control module

Removal

Points to observe when replacing the control module




When transferring a control module from one car to another, remember to note any diagnostic trouble codes beforeremoving the control module from the car.
Alwayscheck the control module connectors for bent or damaged terminals. This may have been the cause of the fault.
For the location of the components, see Additional heater 912-B Locations.

Removing the bumper
Remove the bumper according to Replacing heat exchanger Service and Repair.

Control module




Position a screwdriver between the control module connector and its locking handle.
Turn the screwdriver to release the catch.
Continue pulling the locking handle outwards until the connector comes away from the control module.
Remove the control module from the bracket (2 screws).

Installation

Control module
Install in reverse order.

Finishing
Check that the heater functions according to Test running the additional heater / parking heater Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored while the repair was carried out.
