Reading off using the Volvo on-board diagnostic (OBD) system

General
Information about faults and other data can be read off using the VIDA PC connected to the data link connector (DLC).

With the VIDA PC it is possible to:
- Read and erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), counters and frozen values.
- Activate components / functions according to certain predetermined patterns.
- Continuously monitor the value and status of the input and output signals for the system.
- Read off the control module identification.

To activate the Volvo on-board diagnostic (OBD) system:
- The ignition on must be on.
- Battery voltage must be above 11 V.

To activate components / functions:
- Vehicle speed must be 0 km/h.
- The gear selector must be in position P or N.
