Possible source
- Defective fuse.
- Defective bulbs in the instrument lighting
- Defective rheostat.
- Open-circuit in the cable to the fog lamp switch.
- Short-circuit to ground in one of the cables to or from the fog lamp switch.
- Open-circuit in the cable or the ground lead to or from the bulbs.
- Contact resistance and oxidation.

- The instrument lighting does not operate.
