Fault-tracing information

Condition

Note! Compressor does not start. The condenser fan runs (starts).




To activate the compressor:
- engine running
- generator D+ functioning
- blower fan switch not in position 0
- A/C switch ON.
The above requirements can be checked in the scrolling list using the Volvo Scan Tool (ST).
When all the conditions are met, the ECC control module sends approximately 12 V to the condenser fan relay in the engine compartment.

Possible source
- Fault in fuse no.9 (10A) in the engine compartment integrated relay / fusebox (11/A).
- Fault in the air conditioning (A/C) relay in the integrated relay / fusebox (11/A).
- Fault in the compressor.
- Fault in the pressure switch
- Open-circuit in the cable between the pressure switch and FENIX engine control module (ECM).
- Open-circuit in cable between the air conditioning (A/C) relay in the integrated relay/fusebox (11/A) and Fenix engine control module (ECM).
- Open-circuit in the cable between the air conditioning (A/C) relay and compressor.
- Mechanical fault.
