Fault-tracing information

Condition

Note! Compressor andcondenser fans do not start.








The following are required to activate the condenser fan:
- engine running
- generator D+ functioning
- blower fan switch not in position 0.
- A/C switch ON.
- evaporator temperature ≤ +1°C (gasoline) ≤ +3°C (diesel).
The above requirements can be checked in the scrolling list using the Volvo Scan Tool (ST).
When all conditions are met the ECC control module sends approximately 12 V to the condenser fan relay in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment, which activates the condenser fan (and to the FENIX control module, as a request to start the compressor).
Before the compressor and condenser fan can be activated:

Possible source
- Open-circuit or short-circuit in the cable between the ECC control module and the pressure switch.
- Fault in ECC control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- Compressor and condenser fan do not start.
