Replace the master cylinder: Left-hand drive cars see Master cylinder (LHD), replacement, L.H.D Removal and Replacement. Right-hand drive cars see Master cylinder (RHD), replacement .
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Stamp on the brake pedal 3-4 times. This should remove any vacuum in the power brake booster.
Stamp on the brake pedal so that the braking force is equivalent to emergency braking.
Check that the brake pedal feels rigid. Check that the brake pedal does not move more than 40 mm.
Test drive the car according to Test driving Test Driving.
