Check if the brake calipers have worn seals.
If any of the seals are worn, recondition the brake caliper according to Front brake caliper reconditioning Front Brake Caliper Reconditioning , or Refurbishing rear brake caliper Refurbishing Rear Brake Caliper.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:








- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Stamp on the brake pedal 3-4 times. This should remove any vacuum in the power brake booster.
Stamp on the brake pedal so that the braking force is equivalent to emergency braking.
Check that the brake pedal feels rigid. Check that the brake pedal does not move more than 40 mm.
Test drive the car according to Test driving Test Driving.
