Removing/installing slide and tilt roof cassette assembly

Preparation
- Disconnect negative lead from the battery.
- Remove headlining, in Section 8 (85.88) Interior.
- Disconnect the wiring.
- Disconnect the drainage hoses.
- Fold both front seats to the sleep position.

Removing cassette





Note! Work with two people.

- Support the cassette.
- Remove the securing bolts (8X).
- Remove the cassette through the tailgate or front door.

Note! Lift the front cable harness over the motor support.

- Clean the roof panel.

Installing cassette





Note! The bolts are locked with a plastic ring. This must be re-fitted.

- Check the seals.
- Grease the full length of the seals with vaseline.
- Insert the cassette and tighten the bolts by hand.
- Position the cassette on the roof panel opening and tighten the bolts at the front with 10 Nm.
- Press the roof at the back firmly into abutting and tighten the bolts with 10 Nm.
- Tighten the bolts in the center with 10 Nm.
- Unscrew the rear supports from the body.
- Push the cassette up and tighten the supports. Tightening torque: 10 Nm.

Install
- Attach the drainage hoses and check that they are open.
- Attach the wiring and check its working.
- Fit the headlining, in Section 8 (85.88) Interior.
- Check the working of the slide and tilt roof and adjust the glass panel if necessary.
