Signal Too High. Intermittent Fault

Signal too high. Intermittent fault

Checking the component and wiring

- disconnect the driver's airbag connector
- Ignition on.
Connect an oscilloscope between driver's airbag terminals #1 and #2. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring And Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The oscilloscope should now display a spiked pulse with an interval of approximately 500 ms.
Also take a reading between ground and airbag terminal #2. The oscilloscope should not give any reading.
The cable harness should be replaced in the event of a fault in the wiring. No repairs may be made to the cable harness.
Remedy as necessary.
