Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-143 is stored if the engine speed (RPM) signal exceeds 3000 rpm, the load exceeds 250 mg/str and the signal from the knock sensor (KS) is missing.

Substitute value
- Initial boost pressure.
- Retarded ignition.

Possible source

Faulty signal:
- Open-circuit in the signal cable.
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- Faulty knock sensor (KS).

Fault symptom[s]
- Poor performance.
