Note! A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be stored if a DSA control module for model year 2003- is installed in a -2002 model year car. Check that the correct version of the control module is installed.
- Ignition off.
Check whether the ABS warning lamp lights.
Does the warning lamp light?
Yes - Checking for a short-circuit
No - Checking the other warning lamps in the combined instrument panel

Check the cable between combined instrument panel connector B terminal #22 and control module terminal #16. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

Check that the other warning lamps in the combined instrument panel are functioning.

Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

- Start the engine
- Activate the DSA warning lamp so that it flashes.
Check the function of the warning lamp.
Is the warning lamp lit continuously?
Yes - Checking for a short-circuit
No - Checking the signal from the combined instrument panel

Check the cable between the combined instrument panel connector B terminal #22 and control module terminal #16. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

- Ignition off
- Expose the DSA control module
- Disconnect the control module
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between control module connector terminal #16 and ground.
The voltmeter should read approximately battery voltage.
OK - Checking the signal cable for a short-circuit to supply voltage
Not OK - Checking the resistance of the signal cable

- Ignition off
- Expose the combined instrument panel
- Disconnect the combined instrument panel
- Control module disconnected
Connect an ohmmeter between combined instrument panel connector B terminal #22 and control module connector terminal #16.
The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms.
OK - Checking the bulb
Not OK - Checking for an open-circuit

Is the bulb intact?
Yes - Replacing the component
No - Replacing the component

The cause of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was loose connections in the DSA control module connector and/or connector B for the combined instrument panel.
Check the connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault. Remedy if necessary.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
