Checking for interference
- Ignition off.
Check that the wiring between combined instrument panel connector B #15
- central electronic module (CEM) B2 #16
- each engine control module (ECM) connector
- ECC connector #4
- cruise control connector #13
is not too close to sources of interference such as electric motors, ignition cables and car telephone wiring.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine.
Raise the car and remove both front wheels.
Note! Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) may be stored in the ABS system when the rear wheels are stationary and the front wheels rotate. Erase any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the ABS system after fault-tracing.
Note! Ensure that the front wheels are stationary when the gear selector is moved.
Read off the vehicle speed signal at different speeds.
Is the speed displayed reasonable?
