Condition




The transmission control module (TCM) and engine control module (ECM) communicate via a standardized serial interface. Both the control modules transmit and receive information. The engine control module (ECM) transmits "identification" information to the transmission control module (TCM). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) AT-511 is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that engine control module (ECM) "identity" does not correspond to the programmed "identity".

- The control module "Limp Home" program has been initiated.

Possible source
- Incorrect engine control module (ECM) or transmission control module (TCM) version.

Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp in the combined instrument panel flashes.
- No lock-up function.
- No adaptation of the gear slippage times at high altitude.
- No torque limiting request to engine control module (ECM) when shifting.
- No line pressure solenoid STH control. This results in constant maximum system pressure and leads to harsher shifting and gear engagement.
