Signal Too Low

Signal too low

Checking the throttle position (TP) sensor signal

- Ignition on.
- Go into scrolling values.
Read off the position of the throttle position (TP) sensor.
The reading should be approximately 0 % with the accelerator pedal (AP) up.
The value should be approximately 100 % with the accelerator pedal (AP) fully depressed.

Is the correct value displayed?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking for a short-circuit

-------------------------------------------------

Checking for a short-circuit
Check the cable between automatic transmission control module (TCM) terminal 38 and engine control module (ECM) terminal 41 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.
In cars equipped with the DSA anti-spin system, check the circuit for DSA control module terminal 5 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.
