Condition

Line pressure solenoid STH regulates the line pressure in the transmission. The solenoid is controlled by a power stage in the control module output. The transmission control module (TCM) uses the power stage to control the current to the solenoid. A low amperage gives a high line pressure. A high amperage (approximately 1A) gives a low line pressure. The amperage is primarily affected by the throttle position. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) AT-132 is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the amperage in the internal transmission control module (TCM) circuit is too high. Solenoid STH cannot then control the line pressure.

Substitute value
The control module "Limp Home" program has been initiated.

Possible source
- Defective control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp in the combined instrument panel flashes.
- Deterioration in performance because the transmission control module (TCM) prevents activation of the solenoids, this stops gear-shifting. The transmission only operates in 3rd gear in positions 3 and L, 4th gear in position D and back-up (reverse) gear in position R. Shifting can only be carried out manually between 3rd, 4th, and back-up (reverse) gear.
- No line pressure solenoid STH control, resulting in constant maximum line pressure. This leads to harsher shifting and gear meshing.
- No lock-up function.
