Condition




The driver can engage or disengage winter mode (W) with the mode selector. A signal cable and a ground lead go to the mode selector. When the button is pressed the signal is grounded, this signals the transmission control module (TCM) to change shift program.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) AT-124 is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the signal is low for more than approximately 25 seconds.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.
- Defective mode selector.

Note! A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be stored if the W button is pressed for more than 25 seconds.

- Shifting program Winter (W) cannot be engaged.
