Replacing Flame Trap Seals






Replacing flame trap seals

Remove the intake manifold
Remove intake manifold according to operations Replacing intake manifold Replacing Intake Manifold.

Remove:




- hose from flame trap
- intake manifold bracket
- two flame trap screws.
- oil trap.
Check that the flame trap seal surfaces are clean.

Install flame trap

Note! Early model:




Apply new seals to the flame trap (lubricate the seals), tighten the screws to 20 Nm .

Install the intake manifold bracket loosely with the lower screw.

Note! If the flame trap tip/turns when tightening, make sure that the seals have not rubbed of their necks on the flame trap.

Install flame trap

Note! Later model:




Connect two flame trap hoses to the cylinder block connecting sleeves.

Clamp new hose clamp the upper hose and tighten the lower.

Install and tighten screws to 20 Nm .

Install the intake manifold bracket loosely with the lower screw.
