Checking Combined Instrument Panel Gauges


SB1 Checking Communication with the Combined Instrument Panel:





- Connect Volvo Scan Tool (ST) to data link connector (DLC).
- Ignition on.

Try to establish communication with the combined instrument panel. Has communication been established?

Yes: SB2
No: Fault-trace according to "Checking Control Module Communication." Checking Control Module Communication

SB2 Data Read-Out:
- Read off all data from the combined instrument panel control module and note values. Then continue with SB3.

SB3 Replacing Component:





Try a new connection plate according to DDJ. Replacing Connection Plate. Service and Repair Then continue with SB4.

SB4 Programming Combined Instrument Panel:
Program the control module with the values previously read off the combined instrument panel control module. Then continue with SB5.

NOTE: For information see "Reading Off and Programming Combined Instrument".

SB5 Verification:





After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.

- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Connect combined instrument panel.
- Start engine.

Is the tachometer working?

Yes: Fault corrected
No: Fault not found
